Saturday Fun!

Saturday was a crazy busy day at the studio.  We love celebrating birthdays and Jessica and I had so much fun entertaining our clients (and by entertaining, I mean it literally....I have never danced around and used my "tickle stick" so much in my life trying to get a grin, let alone a s.m.i.l.e.)  In the end, I wouldn't have it any other way and I'm so glad that we were able to capture "real" moments!  ~Lana

Happy Birthday Tatym!  We are so excited to celebrate this pretty one's first birthday!  Since she is a member of our Lullaby Club, we have had the pleasure of watching her grow throughout her first year (even before she was born with the maternity session!)  We LOVE the enthusiasm of her sweet Daddy....always researching before their sessions to get ideas of what he wants to do and then executing them perfectly.  Daddy and his "helpers" literally blew up three large bags full of balloons to "drop" during the session to make his little girl happy.  Her Mommy is so crafty and made her birthday outfit -- isn't it adorable?

Happy Birthday Emma!  Don't you just love her tiara?  She was so darling and we just love her family (she is the granddaughter of Aaron's teacher at Eagle Heights [and also John Landon's teacher when he was at Eagle Heights] and we love, love, love her!)

Becca and Sarah are soooooo stinkin' cute and have the most adorable personalities, which totally shines through in their portraits!  They have been clients of ours at the studio for several years as graduates of the Lullaby Club (and we literally talk and visit with their Mom and Dad for hours while they're in the studio....so much fun) and we have enjoyed watching them grow....I wish I had just 1% of the energy that they have!

Abbye and Luke were so full of smiles and are some of the luckiest little ones I know.  They have wonderful parents that love them so much!  They just celebrated their first birthdays as well and are such blessings to all that know them (and have I mentioned before how much we LOVE multiples?!?).....

Happy 2nd Birthday!  Avery was such a character....she loved Smarties and would do the cutest thing while eating them!  She was very particular as to where she sat, which was a hoot.  It is so funny to watch the different personalities and to watch these little ones grow before our eyes!  It doesn't seem like that long ago that she just turned one....time sure flies when you're having fun.

Sweet Baby "E"

Baby "E" is another one of our Lullaby Club members....it's so hard to believe she is already nine months old!  Her older brother was a hoot trying to make her smile and I think he did a mighty fine job if you ask me!  ~Lana

This family is back for their son's newborn portraits....big sister sure has grown since we did her newborn session two years ago!  He is such a sweet darling at only five days old....

We were so glad to finally meet "K"... he was such a flirt! Poor little guy has been so sick lately, but he is finally better and so full of smiles.

The "L" Family

Big sister started her Lullaby Club with us when she was three months old, and now it's her baby sister's turn! We love this family and cannot wait to watch how sweet Baby "A" changes every three months throughout this next year!

We did this sweet couple's engagement session and now we're doing family pictures again....they are such a fun couple who were up for anything and their boys, well let's just say they were beyond adorable!  Congratulations on the birth of Baby H!

February Presto Sessions

Many of you have expressed interest in our upcoming Presto Session schedule.  We are finalizing all of the dates, but as of right now, we can say that we have our Valentine Kissing Booth open for business on Friday, February 4, 2011.  This session is only $35.00 and you can order your prints right after your session to ensure Valentine delivery.  We can also design custom Valentine cards if that is something you are interested in. Our next February Presto Session is Friday, February 18th.  We are hosting a Facebook Party! More and more we are connecting through social media, so why not look your best for all your old and new online friends?  For only $25.00, you will get an image you will be proud to show on the internet...completely enhanced!  A few days after your session, images will be displayed and tagged so you can drag the image to your desktop for your social networking!  Bring a friend or two, but hurry and call because this will book quickly.  RSVP (281) 485-9300.

Change is in the Air!

Four years ago, my home-based photography business took off and we took the plunge by opening a retail photography studio.  It was a huge change for me, meaning I would no longer be the stay at home mom I had been since my oldest was born.  A month later, I found out I had kidney cancer, and had to go through surgery and time off work.  What a scary time that was for me!  But you, my lovely clients, were amazing, and when I was well enough to photograph again, there you were for me to photograph.  Some of you have been with me since the beginning ~ those first days in my home.  I've watched your children grow - some of the children I took newborn photos of are now booming 5 year olds that I have had the privilege to watch grow before my very eyes.  Some of you, I have only just met, but by taking precious family portraits for you, I feel a great connection.  I love my job, and I know what I do is important.

Recently, I have had a chance to take a step back and re-prioritize some things in my personal life.  I am first and foremost a wife and mother, and through careful thought, consideration and lots of prayer, I have come to a difficult decision.  As much as I love being the photographer at Laura Odom Photography, I have come to a fork in the road where I'm needed more as "Mommy."  I have decided to homeschool my children.  As of January 1st, I will not be working as the main photographer at the studio.  Fear not, though!  I am leaving the studio in very capable hands.  Lana Rawlinson, who you all know, has been with me since the opening of our retail space.  She is taking over the studio, and everything will be remaining the same - structure, pricing, the name, and the same great quality you've always known.  Jessica Hoovler, who has been interning with us since this summer, will be taking the role as main photographer, and I know she will do an amazing job.  I have been teaching her all my "tips and tricks" and she is trained in the LOP style!  Stacey will still be around as well.

To be clear - Laura Odom Photography is NOT closing!  Business is booming and we will still be serving you as the premiere photography studio in Pearland.  We hope you will welcome Jessica and be sure to think of us for all your portrait needs!
